Individual POS product design with ESC printing systems
The presentation of a new ESC UV flatbed digital printing system for small formats is scheduled directly for the beginning of 2012. The models 1014UV and 1024UV are enhancing the well-established DirectJet series by two versatile printers for max. sizes of 254 x 355 and 254 x 609 mm. They are equipped with economic UV LED lamps and specially designed UV LED inks thus enabling competitive direct to substrate printing on a variety of materials such us tiles, PVC, wood, stainless steel, glass and very flexible vinyl. The photo-realistic quality of the prints are convincing. Another powerful UV digital printing system, the Mimaki UJF-3042, is capable to print e.g. on uncoated material with a thickness of up to 50 mm. Modern UV-LED curing technology permits to print even on heat sensitive materials and to save energy at the same time. Furthermore ESC is featuring the well-known AT screen printing and Comec pad printing machines to fulfil special requirements in industrial POS production as well as the modern DTG textile printing systems, which are exclusively sold on the German market by ESC.

TV TecStyle Visions 2012 - Preview
Revolutionary innovation in digital textile printing
Right at the beginning of the year ESC - as exclusive distributor for Germany - will be presenting the new DTG M2 at TV TecStyle Visions trade show. This innovative textile digital printing system is a result from continuous technical development, with the objective of always enhancing print speed. Because, regardless of which demands textile decorators make on their devices, productivity is always top priority.
The most significant innovation is the industrial DX5 print head technology, which is also being used in wide format digital printing providing high stability and speed. The machine can make full use of this plus in speed by two shirt holders adjoined on one base. Printing of two shirts takes only 30 seconds more than printing one shirt.
ESC’s DTG M-series combines improved and faster print performance - even in the field of muliple printing - with a very interesting price/performance ratio. It is laid out for both industrial textile printing and for versatile and individual print tasks. Simultaneous print of 2 - 8 shirts in a size of 610 x 500 mm or 610 x 1200 mm with the M4 model, super wide allover prints, even on jeans, zip hoodies, shirts, towels, caps or clothing panels – all this is made possible thanks to the big range of novel TucLoc™ shirt holders.
The all new DTG Interweave firmware offers even more possibilities in support of textile decoration. Furthermore, it eliminates banding which is common when printing at low resolutions. The DTG RIP software is now laid out for processing 9 file types such as jpg, psd, tif, png, tga, gif, bmp, pcx, dib and achieves even sharper edge definitions.
The One-Pass Fast Technology constitutes a further technical highlight. Normally, dark shirts require a white under base before CMYK colours, i.e. the actual print image, is being printed. The One-Pass Fast Technology combines these two steps into one - thus reducing print times by half.
The DTG M-series is available in two different versions. The DTG M2 in standard configuration supports two shirt pallets with a unique bridge to allow extra wide prints to a maximum of 610 x 500 mm. The DTG M4 version is equipped with a unique platen drive swap out mechanism for printing up to 8 shirts or jeans, towels etc. in a maximum size of 610 x 1200 mm. Of course, it is possible to convert your DTG M2 into a M4 adapting it to your growing production needs.
ESC is sure: This textile printing system will be one of the main attractions during TV TecStyle Visions 2012 trade show.

Viscom 2011 - After-show press release
Digital and screen printing – ESC takes advantage from synergy effects
Economical digital printing systems are still the trend in the field of POS applications. viscom visitors have been interested in small-format DirectJet models and the innovative UV-LED printer Mimaki UJF-3042.
But it was another trend that was even more striking: Increasing individualisation and the aim to minimise costs is pushing industrial users as well as graphic enterprises to look for combined printing solutions. As a consequence the visitors asked for large-size screen printing machines to produce cost-saving white under prints for digital prints. So ESC is able to take advantage from their versatility and to offer several large and medium-format digital printing machines such as Mimaki JFXplus, ESC-Jetrix or ESC-Daytona T660UV in combination with ESC-ATMAX or ESC-ATMACE screen printing systems. No matter whatever the user wants to print. All systems are able to handle materials like glass, paper or plastic with different substrate thicknesses. Even all-automatic production lines are designed by ESC in close co-operation with the customer.
“We are very glad to see that our idea of featuring not only digital printing but also screen and pad printing machines on this viscom show has proven to be the right way!” That was ESC’s after-show comment.
Fespa Digital & Fabric 2011 Retrospective
Fespa Digital – comprehensive and modern ESC digital systems are convincing the market

The different manufacturing solutions shown by ESC on occasion of FESPA DIGITAL SHOW got a great feedback.
Many visitors have manifested their interest in the world-famous Mimaki UJF-3042 UV LED desktop digital printer for small sizes and were impressed by its speed, versatility and easy handling. It offers an outstanding print quality on a multitude of uncoated products up to 50 mm thickness and in a size of up to 300 x 420 mm. Apart from optional white ink printing and white under or over print for transparent media it is now also capable to finish with clear overcoat. Due to modern UV-LED curing technology it is also possible to print on heat-sensitive media and to save to energy at the same time.
Two other ESC-UV flatbed digital printers are able to handle larger formats: ESC-Daytona T660 (max. size 1200 x 1500 mm) as well as the JETRIX large-format systems (max. size approx. 1220 x 2410 mm or 1524 x 3048 mm).
Furthermore ESC was featuring on the show two German market newcomers of Direct Color Systems:
The DirectJet 2-17 solvent printer is conceived as high-grade base model for small print runs and fascinates by its extremely low purchase costs. It prints on material up to 50 mm height and with a max. printing size of 330 x 432 mm. In case of appropriate material pre- or post-treatment is not necessary.
The inkjet roll-to-roll printer FLEX33 is conceived for flexible material and has an output format of 330 x 1118 mm. It offers versatile production possibilities thanks to special UV-resistant Multisolve® mild-solvent inks which can be printed on e.g. self-adhesive vinyl foils, backlit films, photo papers, banners and self-adhesive textile transfer films. Available colours are CMYK as well as the special colours LM, LC, LK and orange.
PSI 2011 - Retrospective
ESC will show their market newcomer at PSI 2011 in Düsseldorf: the Mimaki UJF-3042.
This small desktop digital printer is nearly unbeatable with the regard to speed, versatility and easy handling and it is the unique solution for short runs and on-demand printing at an affordable price. It offers an outstanding print quality on a multitude of products up to 50 mm thickness and various printing modes as simultaneous print of colour and white ink, white as full colour, white under or overprint and finishing with clear coat. Modern UV LED curing technology allows printing on heat sensitive media and leads also to save energy. PSI visitors should not miss to see the immediate delivery of short runs with variable data in a size of up to 300 x 420 mm.
Two more digital printing systems give a proof of ESC’s versatility:
The ESC-Direct Jet is a solvent inkjet printer which is especially designed for direct printing on small parts. A real benefit for the user is the fact that no pre-treatment is necessary for printing on e.g. tiles, PVC, wood, acrylic, electronic components, CDs etc. Further features are white printing and after - treatment by partially applied clear coat.
The ESC-Daytona T660UV is a very versatile UV digital printing system convincing primarily through precision and high print quality. Both small and medium-size materials such as PVC, aluminium, acrylic, styrol, wood, porcelain or glass up to a thickness of 50 mm can be processed. The Daytona T660UV disposes of a UV printing system with five colours, which is also suitable for grey scale. White ink printing is available as an option.
It goes without saying that ESC will also feature their well-known AT screen printing and COMEC pad printing machines which are used with great success in the POS industry all over the world.
