FESPA 2010 - Retrospective
All expectations exceeded
“We are more than satisfied with our Fespa attendance and the sales result!“ This is ESC’s highly pleased after-Fespa statement. The German market is reviving definitely and there have been made substantial investments on the export field as for example in the high-capacity model Atmace ‘S’with 4-post system and moveable plate, which has been sold in combination with a ESC-UV dryer Special. This dryer is equipped with an integrated active air cooling section. The new version E3 of the ESC-HighPress cylinder screen printing machine has convinced the Fespa visitors by its high quality standard and the user-friendliness. It will soon be installed at a European printing company for the purpose of UV varnishing.
In the run-up to Fespa ESC already has announced to show an important new product development in the field of automatic screen washing and reclaiming systems. So many visitors came to see the new ESC-PERFECTA® IC ECOline. The standard equipment of this inline continuous-flow system has been upgraded by crucial innovations. The nozzle bar operating height can now be pre-selected to suit different screen sizes. This offers savings of time, chemicals and energy. The screen washing module is equipped with an integrated inclined filter system, prolonging thereby the solvent’s lifetime. A screen development module, as another part of the standard configuration, is integrated in the screen reclaiming unit and saves extra investment in a separate screen developing system. As a result the ESC-PERFECTA® IC ECOline has achieved an increase of economy and efficiency. Actually the new prototype can be seen for practical demonstration at ESC’s exhibition centre in Bad Salzuflen.
Fair retrospective PSI 2010
PSI visitors are convinced by ESC’s modern printing systems
„Once again our wide product range has turned out to be an important competitive edge. No printing task we could not fulfill by offering a suitable screen, pad or digital printing machine.“, says MD Marcus Borghoff.
The visitor’s interest was focussing on digital printing systems, particularly on the ESC-DirectJet. For printing small parts such as tiles, PVC, wood, acrylic glass, CD’s etc. the DirectJet is the best solution. Fast and without the need of any pretreatment, images are directly printed onto the materials. Equipped with a 8-chamber print head which permits to print even white ink and clear coat the DirectJet is available in 3 different sizes (maximum printing sizes vary from 304 x 304 mm to 330 x 609 mm). Depending on the model the DirectJet accepts material heights ranging from 50 to 152 mm.
The high-performance ESC-AT screen printing machines for flat, oval and rotary printing which gained global acceptance due to its easy handling, represented a further center of attention.
These machines as well as the versatile ESC-KP pad printing machines are capable of printing one or more colours on a variety of materials and lend themselves to be incorporated into a production line or to be expanded to fully-automatic machines by integrating additional equipment.

Garment decorators were attracted by the fast digital printing systems which EUROPA-SIEBDRUCK-CENTRUM displayed at TV TecStyle Visions 2010 fair. Actually two innovations were in the center of attention.
The K3 is the new entry level machine out of the ESC DTG series. This device is capable of printing on both light and dark garments in a max. print size of 300 x 430 mm. As special optional feature a double shirt platen is available making it possible to print two garments at a time and thereby enlarging the printing size to 810 mm in length.
High-performance servo motors and a precision conveyor belt drive allow for high production speed. Just like the Viper the K3 is equipped with the new WIMS (White Ink Management System), a recirculation system which helps avoiding white ink sedimentation and considerably reducing maintenance costs and efforts.
The ESC-DTG PreJet is the second innovation shown at the fair, and the first inkjet-system to replace the traditional manual pre-treatment procedure by an automatic printing system. There is a permanent obligation on the user to consistently be able to repeat a consistent even coverage of the PreTreatment Solution. Without consistent even coverage of the PreTreatment Solution the effects on the printed garment are significantly often leading to poor print quality and costly disposal of the printed shirt. The PreJet as space-saving
digital system overcomes these problems. Using inkjet technology it guarantees consistency of the amount of PreTreat Solution applied and the location of that PreTreat on the shirt. The PreJet offers repeatable pretreatment results, printing traditional block coverage (420 x 297 mm) or uniquely the image area only, saving on PreTreat and improving the quality and reliability of the finished printed textile. As optional feature the PreJet can be equipped with an integrated heat press.
Fair retrospective FachPack in Nürnberg
Finishing of packaging materials by means of modern printing systems
At this year’s FachPack in Nürnberg ESC EUROPA-SIEBDRUCK-CENTRUM is going to introduce many different high-performance solutions for printing packaging materials by means of screen, pad and digital printing.
Uncompromisingly easy handling, smooth and precise print motions, high performance and last but not least a convincing price-performance ratio – this is what is so special about the ESC-AT screen printing machines and the ESC-COMEC pad printing machines.
The printing sizes of the universal screen printing machines range from 400 x 600 mm (ESC-AT-P) to 2000 x 4000 mm (ESC-ATMAX ‘S’). ESC is able to modify every machine to customer’s specifications, so that the users receive individual solutions which exactly match to their specific demands. A further outstanding feature is the possibility of trouble-free integration into complete production lines. This does also apply to the pad printing machines, which are able to produce 1- to multi-colour prints on most unusual shapes. Additionally, ESC is able to offer complete appliances beginning from devices for screen making with all necessary peripheral equipment up to automatic screen washing and reclaiming units, as you can see on our web site: www.esc-online.de. In a meeting we thoroughly discuss the customer’s specific printing job.
ESC-JETRIX for industrial large format printing was recently introduced onto the market. The flatbed digital printing machine impresses with its astonishing print quality. The versa-drop technology permits to print even finest gray scales and, of course, white ink. The unit is equipped with an integrated UV-curing system and handles materials of up to 500 kg thanks to its stable vacuum table. The maximum printing size for rigid and flexible substrates is 1524 x 3048 mm.
ESC DirectJet PRO ideally lends itself for digital direct printing on small packaging materials. This solvent-based inkjet printer is available in three different sizes and prints directly on many kinds of materials with high speed and without any need of pre-treatment. Along with CMYK the DirectJet also prints White and Clear Coat. The smallest DirectJet model has a printing size of 330 x 228 mm and handles material thicknesses of up to 50 mm, whereby the biggest model is able to print materials of max. of 330 x 609 mm and a thickness of 152 mm.
Fair retrospective glasstec 2010 in Düsseldorf
Glass decoration is breaking new grounds
At this year’s glasstec ESC will showcase new possiblities for glass decoration.
ESC-JETRIX is an innovative digital printing system for large format flatbed printing. This machine impresses with its astonishing print quality and has previously successfully been adopted in the glas finishing industy. The unit is available in following versions: JETRIX 2513 (print size 1220 x 2410 mm) and 3015 (print size 1524 x 3048 mm). The ESC-JETRIX is not only capable of printing white ink but also clear coat and specially developed glass and metal primers. This fact constitutes a major advantage to other digitial printing systems and enlarges the machine’s field of application considerably. The unit is equipped with an integrated UV-curing system and handles materials of up to 500 kg thanks to its stable vacuum table. The max. material thickness is 100 mm.
Beyond that, ESC is globally known for its high-performance screen printing machines. The special machines for glass printing are ESC-ATMATIC GD and ESC-ATMATIC PD. The ATMATIC GD is especially suitable for printing on vehicle wind shields, window glass for both indoor and outdoor applications etc. as well as other rigid substrates of up to a thickness of 22 mm. The system consists of a loading conveyor and a screen printing machine. It is conceived for being integrated into production lines but can also be used separately as semi- or three-quarter automatic machine with an automatic take-off system. A transport system leads the substrate from the loading conveyor to the take-off.
The high-precision screen printing machine ESC-ATMATIC PD is conceived to print small-format glass of up to 600 x 700 mm. Thanks to the automatic registration unit high output as well as highest registration accuracy are assured in a range of ± 0,05 mm. Great importance has been attached to an easy handling when developing this digitally controlled automatic machine. Therefore all printing parameters can be set easily and quickly.
The ATMATIC PD is conceived in modular design and can be amplified by a material loading and unloading device and an integrated UV drying system. It is also possible to expand the ATMATIC 60 PD to a multi-colour screen printing line.
The ESC-product range for glass finishing is very versatile and is being completed by different periphal equipment such as automatic screen coating units (ESC-Coatmaster) or automatic screen washing and reclaiming units (ESC-PERFECTA® IC ECOline continuous-flow unit).
